SOUND HOUND DOG TRAINING & BEHAVIOUR

Reward-based training

Teaching through games your dog loves...

At Sound Hound Dog Training and Behaviour we use only reward-based training, which works on building a great relationship between you and your dog.

We bring knowledge and experience to the table through our Level 5 Advanced Diploma in Applied Animal Behaviour (Canine) where we achieved a 'Distinction'; alongside our previous work in rescue and veterinary. We are passionate about building skills through reward and games based training, homing in on breed specific skills especially for spaniels and gun dogs; though we also help other dogs of varying breeds, ages and backgrounds!

Training is taken at your dog's pace to create a fun environment for learning; working with what they find rewarding to progress and achieve your training goals.

We are also here to help and support you as your dog's caregiver, creating a safe space free of judgement to allow you to ask questions, and to understand your dog, how they learn and how to teach them new skills.

Provisional members have demonstrated that they have the appropriate level of Knowledge and Understanding for the professional role of Animal Behaviour Technician (ABT). They are now gaining the practical experience necessary to be assessed as an ABT and therefore become a Full member of the APBC. The APBC supports its Provisional ABT members in providing preventative and first-aid behavioural advice to owners/handlers and/or co-professionals and in implementing behaviour modification and/or environmental modification plans, developed by a Clinical Animal Behaviourist (CAB) or Veterinary Behaviourist (VB) following assessment/evaluation of the animal by that same CAB or VB.

About Sound Hound Dog Training and Behaviour...

Force-Free | Science-Based | Compassionate | Patient

Hi there, my name is Zoe.

I have been around dogs since a young child, growing up with my black Labrador Olly. I have previously worked in boarding kennels, rescue kennels and in veterinary, which has provided me with a wealth of experience with different breeds, ages and behaviours in different settings.

I adopted Ozzie my working Cocker Spaniel in March 2016 as a very nervous boy. He has taught me a huge amount and sparked my passion for building confidence through games and breed specific skills.

I have also shadowed several different dog trainers and behaviourists over a two-year period prior to setting up Sound Hound Dog Training and Behaviour. This has all allowed me to continue learning and gaining further experience.

I'm also very passionate about ongoing learning to bring you modern, reward based training methods. As such I attend webinars and training events, of which you can see below.

I hold a Level 6 BSc in Applied Animal Management and a Level 5 Advanced Diploma in Applied Animal Behaviour (Canine). I plan to follow this up with a Level 6 Advanced Diploma of the same subject. I am fully insured.

Our Clients Say

"Highly recommend Zoe, especially if you have a nervous or reactive dog. She has been brilliant with my little girl".
